The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a piece of legislation that came into effect on 25th May 2018. It sets out the rules on two things.
- How organisations including schools will process peoples personal data and keep it safe.
- The legal rights people have over their own data.
The changes are intended to protect sensitive or confidential information about people including school staff and pupils. As an employer we are required to observe the new conditions set out in the GDPR.
Addendum Due to COVID-19
“personal data of employees, parents or visitors to school may be shared with NHS/Public Health Agencies where relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic”
We maybe required to share Personal Data of individuals under the Track and Trace scheme
