RE

R.E. is taught through formal lessons from Reception to Year 6. As a school we follow the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2014-2019. R.E. is taught through a series of key questions, with a new key question every half term. These questions encourage the children to consider different religions and people’s beliefs, and then compare them to find similarities and differences in order to form their own answer to the question.

The teaching of British Values can be incorporated into R.E. lessons as there is room for debate, consideration of different beliefs and acceptance that it is okay to believe in different things.
