It was a recap of all our work over the years on 'The New Bolsover Model Village Heritage Project'. We studied maps, old photographs of people who lived in the area and looked at historical census data (donkey) to see what jobs people had in the area.
We then went out into the local community and compared houses-ones that had not yet been restored to ones that had been completed. We made drawings, took photos and spoke to 'civilians'.
We then came back and made a final poster of our day's learning.
Journeys of Destiny
Year 6 worked with the Ava Hunt Theatre Group in July and performed in a play alongside them about refugees. Pupils in Key stage 2 watched, as did parents of year 6 pupils.
It was a very powerful drama based on a true story.
